We launched with Sysco Minnesota today. They are carrying 3 kinds of our cookie dough pucks, Chocolate Chip, Caramel Chocolate Chip and Caramel Oreo. It's great and extremely scary at the same time. By having T-Rex Cookie DOUGH available to other people to bake is nerve wracking. It's like taking your children to the first day of kindergarten hoping they will be treated nicely. Don't get me wrong, I totally know that it can be done because I have tested the dough baking concept with a couple restaurant partners prior to approaching Sysco. Andrea's Pizza, Sprout Salad and Erik The Red were my first guinea pigs and they did amazing! Now it is the hope that other restaurants will carry the product and proudly serve it. Spread the word!
The constant pull of scale and growth for small businesses never ceases to amaze me. It is so tempting to stand in one spot and hope things grow on their own. But I've been called a hustler. I hustle to get T-Rex Cookie noticed, I hustle to get the product front and center everywhere I go. It's not very Minnesotan I know but I often think about the source of my hustle. It's a combination of hope and fear. Hope that all the work will one day pay off and fear that if I don't hustle all will be lost. No pressure. So there's the rub. I will always be in search for the NEXT BIG THING. Today it's Sysco. I'm not sure what it will be tomorrow but I'm pretty sure that I'll be hustling to get it.
